Prairie Dog Tales Education Program
Prairie Dog Specialists has an educational program that lasts approximately 1 hour. We are able to present these indoors or outdoors for the general public and we are always delighted to add our Prairie Dog Town Touring walk whenever possible. If a prairie dog town is nearby, we will take groups out to look for a variety of prairie dog behaviors such as “kissing”, “grooming”, and “the alarm call”. We are always on the lookout for associated species, too, such as hawks, bald eagles, coyotes, and cottontail rabbits. We describe the relocation work that we do and always save time for questions. We enjoy going to schools to present our education program that can be geared to just about any age group. Our Powerpoint presentation includes facts about the prairie dog and their role in the short-grass prairie ecosystem. In addition, we bring display boards, a video of our TV coverage, and clips from the amusing Disney video, “The Vanishing Prairie”. Click here for an outline of Our Program.
